Please Read The Following:

The 2020 Open trial will only go forward if Spokane County moves to Phase 3 of the Washington State Reopening process by August 17th.  Phase 3 allows for gatherings of up to 50 people.

Because of Covid-19 concerns, including uncertainty about the ability to cross the U.S./Canada border, we will allow withdrawals from the trial at any time, for any reason, with a full refund.

2020 Catbird Farm Open Trial

Thank you for considering our trial!

We will have four Open trials August 21 - 24.  Dogs will run in three of the four.  There will be four different courses and a commercial flock of Targhee sheep.  Same flock as last year.  They were fair and fabulous. 

Judges will be Lee Lumb, Cheryl Munson, Joe Haynes, and Norm Close.  Elizabeth Baker will be on deck in case one of the four esteemed judges are unable to make the trial.

 

Outruns will be between 300 and 530 yards over interesting and challenging terrain.  Drives will be between 450 and 600 yards.  Lots of bumps, hills, and blind spots.  Should be Fun!

There is plenty of RV parking on-site.  Handlers are welcome to arrive Wednesday, August 19th.


Cost will be $68/per run.  $204 for the trial.

Dogs entered in 3 trials will have preferred entry.

  • Trial Entry dates are July 6th - 10th.  All entries received within those 5 days will have the same priority should a wait list be necessary. 

  • We will have an online entry process.  If you are unable to complete the online form please call for help.

  • The draw will be announced July 14th.

  • You will not make payment in the entry process!

  • We will explain the payment process in an email when we announce the draw.
