Trial email sent 4/13/2025

Below are some important details about the trial; please reach out if you have any questions. Also, we've been having issues with email security, so if you know someone attending the trial, please check in with them that they've received this info.

 

• Payments - There are still some outstanding payments, if you haven't sent payment please do so immediately! 

  • Entry fees are: Open = $75/run and Nursery = $55/run

  • Payment is only due if you are on the accepted entry list. You do not need to pay if you are on the waitlist; payment will be due when you move off of the waitlist.

  • Send payment via "Friends and Family on PayPal" to David Leejohnson Blueoakranch@yahoo.com  OR you may mail a check payable to: David Leejohnson 15887 El Diablo Way, Cottonwood Ca 96022 - Please note! This is not the trial address. 

• Trial address and parking/camping info

  • Trial address is 15520 Evergreen Rd, Cottonwood, Ca 96022

  • There is plenty of camping for large and small trailers. Follow signs through the main ranch gate when you arrive. You can drive vehicles into the field between the camping area and trial field if necessary. It’s about 80 yds from camping area to handlers post  

• Handlers Meeting

  • Meeting at 6:30 each morning, mostly to discuss trial details as the course will be posted at trial field and main barn near toilets. I encourage you to walk the field because the terrain there is deceptive. First dog to the post after the handlers meeting. 

  • There will be a nursery handlers meeting after courses are changed between the two classes. 

  • Please be near the post and ready to run your dog when you're up; there are a lot of dogs to get through!

  • The list on the link will be updated with any movement, I've also attached current PDF lists for each day.

  • Please let us know if there is any issue with a worker assignment and we will adjust.

  • We are looking for volunteers for the nursery class on Sunday afternoon, please let us know if you're able to stay to scribe or work the pens.

• Exhaust 

  • Will be into the field next to (south of) trial field. Sheep will be exhausted by dedicated exhaust crew THRU a gate adjacent to where you enter trial field. Give the sheep a bump toward gate and the exhaust crew will take over. There will be tarp covered panels where sheep leave the field and head into the exhaust pen field so PLEASE be aware of incoming sheep

• Movie Night

  • Saturday evening 8:30 there will a showing of “OUTRUN”, the movie that David’s daughter made in Wales with David Rees, at the main barn. Bring your chairs if you come to watch 

• Food Truck

  • We will have an excellent food truck all weekend serving a good menu from breakfast to dinner

Initial trial info​ - posted Feb 2025​

• All entries received between February 10 - 25, 2025 will have equal preference in the draw, if one is needed

• Any entry received after midnight on February 25 will automatically be put on the bottom of the draw

• We will be running three 1-day open trials and three nursery classes. No cross entry between classes.

• Accepted dogs will run in all three trial

• Open runs are $75 each. Nursery runs are $55 each. 

• You will NOT pay at the time of entry. Payment instructions will be sent after entries close.

• The accepted entry list will be emailed no later than Friday, March 21, 2025; you will receive payment details at that time

• Withdrawals received by April 4, 2025 will receive a full refund.

  • After April 4, if we are able to fill your spot off the waitlist, you will receive a full refund.
