Thank you for checking out the Stockdog Travel Map! This resource will only be as successful as fellow dog handlers and enthusiasts make it, so if you have a favorite dog friendly spot you like to stop at when you're traveling, share it with rest of the community by posting it here!

A few things to keep in mind:

It is recommended that you always double check any info provided here for accuracy prior to planning your stop.
Dog friendly places can be challenging to come by, so please always pick up after your dogs and yourself, and follow any rules when you're at a stop.
Private residence are posted as well, hosts emails are shared for arranging specific details to these locations.

Frank Slide Interpretive Center	Alberta	Public Restrooms	Small Trailers	Informational stop on the Frank Slide of 1903. Dogs are allowed on leash around the grounds of the informational center. There is a fee to access the inside displays (well worth it if you have the time). Can get busy during holidays and weekends. While smaller trailers can access, wouldn't advise during busy times.

Kimberly Old Airport	British Columbia	Free camping,Longer walk	Any Size	Just off Hwy 95A. Old Airfield, lots of space.
Five Hearts Healing Arts Ranch	California	Dog Yards,Private Residence	Small Trailers	5 fence acre property with room for RV and tent camping, dry camping $15/night. Also recreational cabin that sleeps 5 with crates provided for dogs. Contact Gail Hromadko at hromadkog@gmail.com to arrange details.
Butte Valley Fairgrounds	California	Longer walk	Any Size	Level sites on grass with full hookups. Honor pay system and inexpensive. Dog walking to your heart's content.
Sandy Beach County Park	California	Public Restrooms	Any Size	Water and electric sites only, but there is an RV dump. Sites are a little cramped and the park can be busy during summer. Reservations are a good idea. Leash walking only and it's limited a bit.
Adams County Fairgrounds	Idaho		Any Size	Nice spot to let dogs stretch their legs a bit
Dubois Rest Area	Idaho	Free camping,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Large rest area, lots of truckers use this stop, so park carefully, but it is clean and well lit.
Elmore County Fairgrounds	Idaho	Longer walk,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Fairgrounds water stalls
Loves	Michigan	Dog Yards,Free camping,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Grassy paths to walk along.
Flowing Wells Rest Area	Montana	Dog Yards,Free camping,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Clean, safe rest area right of Hwy 200 in Montana
Cherry River Fishing Access	Montana	Longer walk	No Trailers	Day use only off I-90 in Bozeman.
Beaverhead Campground	Montana	Longer walk	Any Size	Good camping spot (I believe it is free) along a lake with a path. Nice dog walking. Decent size rigs should be able to fit in just fine
Anaconda Rest Stop	Montana	Free camping,Longer walk,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Great rest area off of highway. Nice heated building. There is a paved/gravel path that goes for 9 (I think) miles for great dog walking, decent grassy areas around the rest area too.
Divide Bridge Campground	Montana	Longer walk,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Appx 3 miles off hwy, nice river access from boat area, if you drive further in toward campground there are trails that go into the woods. Has always been a very quiet area when I've gone through. NO cell service.
St Regis Travel Center	Montana	Gas,Dog Yards	Any Size	Nice gas station, clean bathrooms, large gift store and good huckleberry shakes!
Cottonmill - Old Father Trail	Nebraska	Longer walk	Small Trailers	.75 and 2 mile walking loop at the back of the park. Picnic table. Off leash allowed. About 15 min off i-80.
Walter Canyon Recreation Area	Nevada	Longer walk,Free camping,Public Restrooms	Any Size	Not far off I-80. Go to the end of the road to hike up the canyone.
Fallon RV Park Country Store	Nevada	Dog Yards	Any Size	Two large fenced areas to let dogs run.
Carlsbad KOA Holiday	New Mexico	Dog Yards	Any Size	Nice place with two huge dog playgrounds. https://koa.com/campgrounds/carlsbad/
National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center	Oregon		No Trailers	If you're into history of the west, this is a great educational stop, not great dog walking, but there is trailer parking.
Harney County Fairgrounds	Oregon	Longer walk	Any Size	New RV area with full hookups, dry camp or park near ag barns with just water and electric. Honor system pay and inexpensive. Abundant dog walking and largely unused except at fair time.
Arrowhead Travel Plaza	Oregon	Gas	Any Size	Easy gas station to get in and out of.
The Cottage Grove Inn	Oregon	Dog Yards	No Trailers	Just down from the Best Western, 2 minutes of freeway, dog beds in room, dog toy to take home, mostly fenced dog yard. Very clean and comfy.
Rufus Landing	Oregon	Free camping,Longer walk	Any Size	Free overnight parking along Columbia River, there are some grassy areas as well as gravel banks. Easy spot to stretch legs so long as it's not a busy weekend, there can be a lot of boat ramp traffic.
Oakridge Rest Area	Oregon	Free camping,Public Restrooms,Longer walk	Any Size	Great rest stop, easy pull off with circular turn around. Lots of green grass along a river to walk.
Shaniko Moutain Identifier	Oregon	Longer walk	Small Trailers	This is not really a rest area, just a good pullover spot. Could be tight for big rigs, there is a gravel ranch road that leads away from the highway, you can go about .5 mile down for a good dog stretch, and the views on a clear day are incredible.
Grass Valley	Oregon	Public Restrooms	Any Size	As you are going through Grass Valley there is a small city park on the east side of the road, street parking on both sides, clean public restrooms and nice grassy area to walk dogs on leash.
Deschutes County Fair & Expo	Oregon		Any Size	Fairgrounds has some parking areas around perimeter to walk dogs.
Texhoma City Park	Texas	Free camping,Dog Yards	Any Size	Free hook up for electric, dump station, dumpster, potable water
Hitching Post RV Park	Utah	Longer walk	Any Size	Level sites with abundant dog walking in a huge field. Full hookups, inexpensive with easy on/off the freeway and gas nearby.
Southridge Sports U& Events Complex	Washington	Longer walk	Any Size	Easy stop through Tri-Cities area. Sports complex with trails around perimeter for walking. Several restaurants and coffee shop in the parking lot.
Thorp Public Access - Green Bridge	Washington		Small Trailers	Large lot with turnaround. Can be busy but pretty spot with river access.
Catbird Stockdogs	Washington	Free camping,Longer walk,Private Residence	Any Size	We welcome stockdog handlers to stop by for a night or two if they are passing through on I-90. We are about 2 miles off the freeway and all major amenities (fuel, grocery, propane) are within a mile. Please email catbirdstockdogs.com to arrange ahead of time.
